Last week saw the
November 2015 Fiata
graduates receiving their
international Fiata Diplomas
in Freight Forwarding
at the South African
Association of Freight
Forwarders (Saaff) head office
in Johannesburg.
Each year interest in the
qualification had grown as the
number of applicants continued
to increase, said Mark
Goodger, managing director
of GMLS, the original Saaffappointed
training provider,
and the only training
provider that has provided
the qualification in South
Africa since 2012. GMLS
reintroduced the qualification
after its absence in the country
for more than ten years.
He explained that
candidates were carefully
screened, handpicked and
usually required at least 10
years of experience in the
freight industry – or alternate
suitable qualifications – to be
considered for the course. “The
qualification is internationally
recognised and constantly
updated to ensure the newest,
most relevant concepts are
covered,” added Goodger.
