More Products Subject to Export Control The Minister of Trade and Industry recently published a notice in the Government Gazette listing a range of goods that may not be exported from South Africa, except with an export permit. These are listed in Schedule 1, 2 and 3 of the notice. Government Departments and agencies responsible for issuing the export permits are also mentioned in the notice along with instances where export permits are not required. The goods not subject to export control cover a broad range of products that include wood, chemicals and metals. Notwithstanding the conditions mentioned in the permit, there are eight conditions that need to be met, details of which are also contained in the Government Gazette notice.
