Deutsche Post CEO pleads guilty

By the time this issue is distributed, the fate of former Deutsche Post World Net CEO Klaus Zumwinkel will be sealed. The ex-CEO last week pleaded guilty to tax evasion amounting to almost €1.2 million between 2001 and 2006. He resigned when details of the tax fraud were revealed in February last year. It was part of a crackdown by the German authorities on several wealthy Germans. According to Reuters he confessed to tax fraud, saying he regretted his actions and has now paid all taxes due. The court was due to deliver its sentence on Monday January 26.
