Cross-Channel freight traffic again under threat

The French ferry workers have once again taken up arms against the Danish ferry operator, DFDS, refusing it access to the Channel port of Calais – and once again escalating the congestion threat to cross-Channel freight traffic.

According to an article in Lloyds Loading List, this action by the seamen’s union, Syndicat Maritime Nord (SMN), has again left P&O Ferries as the only ferry service calling at Calais.
