The French ferry workers have once again taken up arms against the Danish ferry operator, DFDS, refusing it access to the Channel port of Calais – and once again escalating the congestion threat to cross-Channel freight traffic.
According to an article in Lloyds Loading List, this action by the seamen’s union, Syndicat Maritime Nord (SMN), has again left P&O Ferries as the only ferry service calling at Calais.
