Global logistics company Leschaco is expanding its footprint in the Americas following the recent acquisition of Colombian logistics service provider, Coltrans. This strategic move solidifies Leschaco’s position in the region and marks another milestone in its ambitious growth strategy.Coltrans, a respected player in the Colombian market for over three decades, has been an integral part of the Leschaco Group’s agent network. The acquisition not only brings Coltrans’ experienced workforce of 500 employees under the Leschaco umbrella, but also strengthens the long-standing business relationship between the two entities. This latest acquisition is Leschaco’s second in the Americas in the past year, having previously acquired Transantarctic, a prominent freight forwarding company based in Lima, Peru. With existing subsidiaries in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, Leschaco is committed to expanding its network in a customer-oriented manner. The company believes Colombia, one of the largest emerging markets in Latin America, holds immense growth potential across global transportation routes. The acquisition of Coltrans positions it strategically to tap into these opportunities and enhance its business activities in one of the region’s most attractive economies.“This acquisition seamlessly integrates into our existing network and carries high strategic importance for us,” said Constantin Conrad, CEO of the Leschaco Group. “It strengthens our foothold in one of Latin America’s most alluring economies and reinforces our commitment to expanding our presence in the Americas for the benefit of our valued customers.”Founded in 1988, Grupo Empresarial Coltrans SAS has grown to become one of the leading local logistics companies in Colombia. With headquarters in Bogotá and offices in key logistics hubs, including Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Pereira, Buenaventura, Cartagena, and Ipiales, the company offers comprehensive global logistics services encompassing import and export services across various transport modes, customs clearance, warehousing, and intermodal transportation.“The entry into the Colombian market and the acquisition of Coltrans’ extensive product portfolio are strategic additions to Leschaco’s global network. Both our local and international customers will benefit significantly from this expansion,” said Martin Sack, regional head, Americas.Leschaco has noted an increase in export business to Colombia, in different sectors. Having its own offices in nine cities in Colombia enables the company to offer customers an end-to-end service, said Peter Schmidt-Löff ler, CEO for Sub-Saharan Africa.
