Chinese airport sets new record

The Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has set a new cargo handling record for the financial year 2016/17, securing the airport’s position as the world’s busiest cargo airport for the seventh consecutive year.

According to a statement released yesterday (Wednesday), cargo volume handled at the airport increased by 6.7% to 4.6 million tonnes while revenue grew 2.4%.
