China has approved the start of a pilot e-freight project by Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
According to the Chinese civil aviation authorities this is in line with plans to develop the airport into an international air cargo hub.
Launched earlier this month, the project will try integrated digital technologies which include an electronic freight information platform, a smart security check information system, and air logistics public information services platform.
During the next two years the airport is expected to gain experience in establishing standards, optimising processes and connecting information.
The project is also expected to boost air-ground and air-railway combined transportation by connecting standards and information of various means of transport.
