Dave Graham has been appointed airfreight director of independent consolidator CFR Freight, effective from March 1. Airfreight was a fledgling division of the company when he joined as airfreight general manager three years ago. Under his watch it has grown significantly, last year achieving the best airfreight results in the history of the company. “And that was in the most trying economic environment that the airfreight industry has ever seen,” said Graham. “If we can perform that well in a tough environment, we’re expecting good things in the future,” he told FTW. “We believe that Dave can contribute significantly to the company and the board in terms of strategy and vision – not only in the airfreight division but in the company as a whole,” director Peter Schmidt- Löffler told FTW. “The airfreight product has become very successful and we are now able to offer equally attractive sea and airfreight products to our clients,” he said. Graham joined CFR after seven years with UTi, the last year and a half based in Chicago. His experience and understanding of this route in particular has seen huge volume growth. CFR is a board member of the Air Cargo Group, a global network of neutral airfreight consolidators. On the seafreight side the company is a founding member of the WorldWide Alliance – a global network of neutral NVOCCs.
