Cargolux is in the process of buying another five Boeing 747-8F freighters, valued at the equivalent of R26.6 billion, to add to its last order for 14 of these aircraft, of which 13 have already been delivered.
The five new freighters are for a planned joint venture between Cargolux and its 35% shareholder Henan Civil Aviation Development & Investment (HNCA) to form a new Cargolux China airline which will be based in Zhengzhou, north central China, reports Airwise News.
The Luxembourg-registered carrier expects to confirm the order before year end, and the new airline for an early-2017 take off.
