Botswana is a key market
for CMA CGM which is
continuing to develop its services
in the country a year after
setting up a local office.
Based in Gaborone under
the management of Kgomotso
Batlanang, the CMA CGM
Botswana sales and operation
manager, the office has managed
to establish a firm foothold in
what is a growing market.
“The demand is there as a
lot of goods are imported into
the country,” said Batlanang.
“Botswana enjoys good economic
growth and transportation needs
follow this trend, increasing
every day.”
According to Batlanang, it
has been important for the
CMA CGM office in Botswana
to develop services that provide
innovative solutions to local
importers and exporters.
“The economic tissue of the
country is very dynamic; every
day more companies are being
set up,” she said. “Recently the
region began a process that
will see neighbouring states
working towards an agreement
that will improve cooperation
through common institutions
and rules. This could be a big
step to reinforce infrastructure
development in Botswana.”
She said taking this into
account the group would
continue to invest in its
Botswana operations, offering
innovative and new services that
would benefit local companies.
