Logistics software solutions
company Easyclear is
anticipating further growth
on the African
continent as
more southern
African
countries adopt
the customs
clearing portal,
ASYWORLD.
“We are eagerly
anticipating
the release of
ASYWORLD in
Namibia which
is currently in a
testing phase,” said Easyclear
general manager, Michael
Henning. He pointed out
that the revenue authorities
of Lesotho and Swaziland
had also recently adopted the
portal, which
is integrated
with the
Easyclear
solution.
“The
introduction of
these solutions
in the two
neighbouring
countries over
recent months
has not been
without
challenges, particularly in
Lesotho, where long border
delays have been experienced
since the launch in August this
year,” said Henning.
However, these challenges
are managed and mitigated
through a very close working
relationship forged with
the respective revenue
authorities and clients in
these countries, he added.
According to Henning,
it has been encouraging
to see the increased
adoption of new
technology on the
continent. “Improved,
integrated regional
systems are proven to
fast-track the movement
of goods across borders
and thus facilitate trade.
