Africa Logistics will in 2020 invest and operate various bonded facilities in the Port of Beira as part of the long-term commitment of the Board of Directors to be present in this booming corridor, according to managing director Jorge Paraskeva. A member of the Netherlandsbased Royal Burger Group, a Dutchbased company, Africa Logistics was established in 2018 through the acquisition of Beira-based Indico Logistics. “Logistics is all about information,” says Paraskeva. “You need to understand your client, and you need to understand the market.” Africa Logistics, in his view, combines the necessary local knowledge with international expertise. “The LNG projects are so big and complex they will need foreign expertise,” he says. The Royal Burger Group offers a full range of integrated logistics services, and with decades of liner agency and chartering arms. “Local knowledge and presence” facilitate trade between Mozambique, its neighbours and Europe.” The NetherlandsAfrican Business Council (NABC), of which the Royal Burger Group is a member, promotes the involvement of the Dutch private sector in the sustainable development of the African continent. Africa Logistics is actively involved in promoting and developing the Beira Corridor through various initiatives, with Paraskeva forming part of the delegation that is making presentations in neighbouring markets.
