African airline continues to expand its fleet

Ethiopian Airlines became the first African carrier to operate the A350 in 2016.

The largest air carrier group in Africa, Ethiopian Airlines, announced yesterday (Tuesday) that it had placed an order for an additional ten Airbus A350-900 aircraft to expand its long-haul route network and pursue its growth strategy.

The airline currently operates a fleet of four A350s – two of which are on lease.

“We will deploy the additional aircraft on our long haul routes connecting Addis Ababa with destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia,” added CEO, Tewolde GebreMariam.
