Zwane promises regulatory certainty

Minister of mineral resources
Mosebenzi Zwane has
promised regulatory certainty
to the South African mining
industry saying work on
the long-awaited Mineral
and Petroleum Resources
Development Amendment Bill
will be concluded by no later
than June this year
Delivering the keynote
address at the Investing
in African Mining Indaba
in Cape Town on Monday,
Zwane said government was
committed to providing
business and investors with a
stable operating environment
through certainty in its policies
and regulations guiding the
mining sector. “Mining will
continue to play a central role
in South Africa’s prosperity.
We invite the international
investment community and
the mining sector role-players
at large to work with us as we
grow the South African mining
sector.”
