Zim's tech solution for illegal imports

A Zimbabwean interministerial
task force set up
to probe issues around the
influx of illegal imports has
come up with and approved
recommendations to resolve
the problem.
The Zimbabwean
government is deploying
technological interventions
at border posts to crack
down further on illegal
imports.
This was announced
last week by the country’s
Minister of Industry and
Commerce, Mike Bihma,
who pointed out that
interventions would include
the use of high-tech gadgets
at ports of entry to detect
illicit or banned goods more
efficiently.
Surveillance equipment to
monitor border posts would
also be deployed, he added.
