Zimbabwe's financial woes deepen

Trade with Zimbabwe is set to
continue to be hampered by a
lack of credit or ready cash.
Domenico Fanizza, who led
an International Monetary
Fund mission to Zimbabwe
in February 2016, says in
a statement: “Economic
difficulties have deepened.
Zimbabwe cannot wait and
needs to act now.
“The El Niño-induced
drought has hit the economy
hard. Lower commodity prices
and the appreciation of the
US dollar have compounded
difficulties.”
