ZIMBABWE IS planning to implement the SADC trade protocol by the
end of this year, says
permanent secretary for industry and international trade, Stewart Comberbach .
The full programme is with the Ministry of Finance and we should be ready by January 1 next year, he said.
Zimbabwe was unable
to be ready by the original September 1 deadline.
Comberbach says nine Comesa countries are ready to reduce their import tariffs for each other to zero at the end of October. The nine are Mauritius, Kenya, Zambia, Sudan, Malawi, Madagascar, Egypt and Zimbabwe.
