KEVIN MAYHEW JOHANNESBURG-BASED World Groupage Services is to introduce a website for its clients which will be developed into a tracking and tracing tool along with document handling facility. Initially the website will provide basic details about shipping movements and berthing information on groupage container movements, says operations manager, Colette Smit. “Our clients will be free to track the movements of their loads, but more secure features will be introduced in the next 12 to 18 months to enable documentation management as well,” she explained. It will also contain snippets of information like ship delays due to bad weather, which the company will monitor as best it can to act as a news service for its clients. The website is presently being developed and will go live before the end of the year.
