Windows-based solution covers imports and exports

A VITAL part of any forwarding agent’s armoury is effective handling of information technology (IT), according to Jonathan Sims, MD of freight system specialists, CoreFreight.
“The CoreFreight application allows a company to manage the forwarding and clearing (F&C) documentation process flow in a modern Windows-based environment,” he told FTW, “providing a comprehensive IT solution for the processing of both SA imports and exports.”
It is fully customs compliant, including electronic data interchange (EDI), which brings greater efficiency for parties accredited by SA Revenue Services (SARS).
The “Personal Task Manager”, according to Sims, is designed to organise the individual user’s workload - the tracking and monitoring activity on each of the files being worked on.
It even has the ability to provide a warning when an activity has taken longer than company-defined time periods. An advanced enquiry facility allows operators to deal with customer queries with minimum disruption to their work process.
“What attracts our clients to CoreFreight is not only the operational functionality but the technology on which it operates,” said Sims.
“As a small example, a client is able to send an SMS on a credit check failure direct from the application to the responsible manager.
“The logistics industry is growing more sophisticated and its participants more demanding. Service providers need to ensure that they have the appropriate technology to support these requirements.”
