The eThekwini municipality Emergency Control and Disaster Management Unit (ECDMU) has warned of gale force winds expected to have hit Durban overnight and this (Friday) morning.
Wind volumes were predicted at 40km/h and were expected to reach up to 70km/h overnight into today.
This could result in damage to structures, cause trees to fall and result in traffic congestion where these impact on roadways, the report added.
The ECDMU is monitoring the situation. All emergency calls should be logged to 031 361 0000.
