VWSA enters heavy commercial market

ED RICHARDSON VOLKSWAGEN OF South Africa will introduce Volkswagen truck and bus products into the South African heavy commercial market within the next two years. Volkswagen of SA managing director Andreas Tostmann said: “The product from Brazil has proven itself in the toughest of conditions not only in Brazil, but also in African and Middle East countries.” Phase One of the manufacturer’s intended strategy to enter the bus market will entail the importation of fully built up units from August 2005. “We will implement the assembly operation for buses in July 2006 as Phase Two,” says Tostmann.
