Vodacom group executive, Vuyani Jarana, has reportedly been identified as the leading candidate for the position of CEO of SAA, according to a report in Business Day.
The report said three people familiar with the matter had confirmed the rumour.
SAA has not confirmed or denied the claims.
Airline spokesperson Tlali Tlali said SAA had sent a submission [of possible CEO] to the shareholder [the National Treasury] on the matter. “Once considered at that level, the name of the recommended candidate may be tabled at Cabinet,” Tlali told eTNW.
For now, though, no announcement had been made about who the new CEO would be, Tlali stressed. “There are requirements that must be dispensed with before any announcement is made,” he said.
