The gathering pace and related challenges of global vaccine distribution have highlighted the importance of accurately tracking and tracing time-sensitive cargo, especially with artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

According to Muhs, one of the recent innovations in the healthcare sector is the use of hyper-precise technology.
Not only does it help carriers with data aggregation, but it’s become essential for ‘seeing’ what’s happening as vaccines move from point to point, often ensuring near real-time monitoring of the process.
“Using this data,” says Muhs, “healthcare companies can map information such as location, light exposure, humidity, barometric pressure, and shock events, which may impact the safety and effectiveness of the contents of a healthcare delivery.”
He adds that monitoring acuity makes the entire journey of healthcare products more connected and accessible, and that AI and the use of predictive tools enables agents to intervene where possible disruptions - such as weather-related events - threaten delivery timelines.
