US firm to invest $100m in Africa

US-based private equity firm KKR & Co LP is looking to invest about US$100 million in Africa over a year, using Nigeria as its regional base.

News agency Reuters reports that the firm is looking at agriculture and food, energy and infrastructure projects as the investment is not “limited to one sector,” said KKR senior advisor Dominque Lafont.

According to Reuters, Lafont was appointed in July to help the firm expand its African business.
