UPS HAS recorded solid third quarter growth with increases in the company’s revenue and net income. Its average daily volume of packages handled increased by 445 000 to 13.7-million (+3.4%), and total international export package volume grew 13.2%. For the nine months ended September 30, UPS’s consolidated revenues totalled US$26.74-billion (+8.9%); operating profit US$3.79-bn (+19.3%); and net income US$2.47-bn (+20.8%). The forwarding arm, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, also posted strong 3rd quarter growth - with revenue up 10.1%. And with the acquisition of Menlo Worldwide Forwarding, UPS SCS will add guaranteed heavy airfreight to its global portfolio, the report added.
