EIGHTEEN YEARS since it first achieved 'best seller' status, the revised and updated fourth edition of the JMCCI Importer's Manual has just been published.
Hundreds of millions of rands are lost by South African international traders due to inefficient procedures in the trading cycle, from purchasing and insurance methods, right through to the transport chain, says Joan Warburton-McBride, project co-ordinator at the Johannesburg Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JMCCI).
It was in response to this need for information that JMCCI first published its Importer's Manual 18 years ago. It is the textbook on which the Chamber's Import Management Course is based.
