Updated corridor handbook available soon

The second East and Southern African Road Transport Corridor Information Handbook, produced by the Federation of East and Southern African Road Transport Associations (Fesarta) and Fleetwatch, will be available later this year. According to Fesarta executive director Barney Curtis, the handbook will have been updated extensively since its first publication in 2011. “It took us a long time to print the first edition even though we have always known how necessary it was,” he told FTW. “The first edition went very fast and there has been a continuous call for more of the books.” Titled East & Southern African Road Transport Corridor Information Handbook, it deals with each corridor individually, breaking it down into routes, distances, time delays, wellness centres, location of weighbridges, tolls and even what documents are required at the various border posts. It also gives a cost analysis for each corridor and route in both the local currency and US dollars.
