Uganda's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has asked Cabinet to approve a US$325-million loan from China's Export Import Bank to pay for the expansion of its Entebbe International Airport.
Herbert Ngobi, CAA manager: Airports and Aviation Security, was cited by the East African Daily News as saying that the first US$200 million would be used within a period of five years for the completion of the first phase.
Phase one would include the expansion of passenger terminals, construction of a new cargo centre, resurfacing of the main runway and taxi ways, construction of three more new boarding bridges, modification of the departures lounge and construction of a domestic terminal.
