TOUGH NEW anti-pollution measures introduced by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) bans vessels registered in Albania, Belize, Bolivia, Cambodia, Comoro Islands, Georgia, Honduras, the Maldives, Mauritius and Saint Vincent from entering UAE waters.
Any ships registered in these countries will be seized and auctioned for scrap unless they have the sanction of the International Association of Classification Societies. Registration companies for the restricted countries have also been told to close in the UAE.
