Tolls on Maputo-South Africa motorway to rise

Trans-Africa Concessions (TRAC), the company that operates the Maputo-South Africa motorway, is increasing the tolls paid at the two toll-gates inside Mozambique by between 10% and 15% as from March 1. At the Maputo toll-gate, at the start of the motorway, the toll for light vehicles and motorcycles rises from 17.5 to 20 meticais, an increase of 14.3% (at current exchange rates, there are about 27.1 meticais to the US dollar). The toll for heavy trucks rises 10.3%, from 707 to 780 meticais.
