BEAUTY AND elegance were in strong evidence at the recent launch of the MSC Opera in Genoa - and we’re not only referring to the vessel. The ship’s godmother, Sophia Loren, was flanked by the captain, Giuseppe Cocurullo, and Capt. Gianluigi Aponte, chairman and owner of Mediterranean Shipping Company, parent company of MSC Cruises, as she cut the ribbon to officially name the line’s new addition recently. The MSC Opera is the sixth cruise ship in the MSC fleet, joining MSC Melody, MSC Monterey, MSC Rhapsody, MSC Lirica and MSC Armonia.
