Chief executive officer of ZIM Integrated Shipping Services,Rafi Danieli, has stepped down after 38 years with the company, seven as CEO.
He will continue in his current capacity until a new appointment is made.
Danieli is well known to many in the local shipping industry, having headed up the South African operation during the early 1990s.
“During his tenure as CEO he led broad structural changes in the company and two complex financial restructurings. This saw the company moving from making operational losses to an operational profit, with operating margins higher than the industry average,” according to a company statement.
