SEZ hearings under way

Country-wide public hearings, organised by the Department of Trade and Industry, are under way until March 8 to give members of the public, organised labour and business an opportunity to express their views on the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Bill and Policy. The purpose of the Bill, which was gazetted by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies on January 23, is to broaden the scope and composition of dedicated industrial areas and to support industrial decentralisation.
