Alan Peat THE LAST stage in the container lines agreeing service level agreements with SA Port Operations (Sapo) is underway, according to Dave Rennie, c.e. of Unicorn Lines and chairman of the Container Liner Operators Forum (Clof). "At this point in time, Clof has agreed and signed off the work done in developing the service level agreements with Sapo," he said. "We have distributed this document Ð basically conditions of trade for container lines Ð with the members being asked to sign their acknowledgement." Sapo, meantime, is taking the document through legal scrutiny. "After the legal clearance we will negotiate the second phase, the actual service level agreements," he said. "Under the basic framework, these will be negotiated with Sapo by the individual lines dependent upon the requirements of each carrier."
