A NEW logistics operator
has opened its doors in
Johannesburg and Durban.
And while the name – Seko
Synergy - may be new, the
directors are well-known
industry stalwarts.
Launched by Richard
Mallabone, managing
director, and fellow directors,
Chandra Booysen and
Samantha Bellaram, the
company offers a full range
of services – from air and
ocean logistics to brokerage,
warehousing and distribution
– from its two locations,
and this includes a 4 000
m2 warehouse close to OR
Tambo International Airport.
“It’s one thing to talk
about the global economy
and a global network but
Seko Synergy in South
Africa believes the real
differentiator is to offer
a global network owned
exclusively by locals,”
Mallabone told FTW. “Our
new business is owned and
run by South Africans and
our key focus is to provide
customised solutions for our
customers.
According to Mallabone,
the company already
complies with Broad
Based Black Economic
Empowerment legislation
and has been certified as
a Level 4 contributor with
its sights set on Level 3
certification during 2009.
Seko Synergy South Africa
is part of the global network
of more than 120 SEKO
offices in over 40 countries.
Launched at a single
location in Chicago in 1976,
SEKO now has 47 offices in
the United States. Unlike
other companies whose
offices outside of North
America rely on local agents,
SEKO offices are locally
owned and managed.
