SEBENZA FORWARDING has acquired its own premises in Spartan with warehouses and office space of approximately 3 610sq/m. This includes a 10 metric ton overhead crane. When the company moves into the new headquarters at the end of this month it will offer warehouse facilities, free and bonded stores, its own fleet of vehicles and courier service. Gavin Wyngaardt has been appointed to the board of directors, with responsibility for the day to day running of all offices on a national basis. "Under the leadership of sales and marketing director Peter-Paul Ngwenya, the significant growth of the company has continued," says managing director Mark Goodger. "The latest achievement to our growing client base is Cell C, the contract which we won last year. "Not only are we a black empowerment company, but we are also empowering women in top positions. Cathy Alison is now branch manager in Cape Town and Sebenza has placed women in key positions throughout the country." The company, now entering its fifth year of existence, has entered into a new joint venture with National Airways Corporation (NAC). The two partners have opened their doors at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, providing a fully fledged air charter operation with accent on helicopter flights and tours in and around Cape Town.
