SALE by Imperial Logistics International

JOY ORLEK THE SALE by Imperial Logistics International of German-based JH Bachmann to Danish international freight forwarder DFDS Transport will affect only the trade name of the local operation which will revert from Bachmann-Megafreight to its original registered trade name, Megafreight Services. That’s the word from Gordon Pascoe, founder and MD of Megafreight Services, who told FTW last week that Megafreight did not form part of this transaction. “The South African portion of JH Bachmann is fully incorporated into our business where we retain 100% ownership. Imperial remains the majority shareholder in Megafreight and the company remains core to Imperial Logistics’ operation in South Africa where we’ll continue to grow the business together,” Pascoe said. “The business relationship established with JH Bachmann’s international network over the past four years will be continued with DFDS which will also represent Megafreight exclusively in Asia.” Imperial Logistics International is wholly owned by Imperial Holdings Limited South Africa. “Our service offering is strengthened by our close relationship with Imperial’s local logistics operation where we are in a position to provide our customers with comprehensive supply chain solutions, “ said Pascoe.
