Engaging with the logistics industry as a whole remains vitally important to Transnet, said Vusi Khumalo, senior manager at Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA). Speaking at the first Transport Forum for 2012 at the Port of Richards Bay, Khumalo said dialogue between industry and the parastatal was critical for a successful supply chain. The Transport Forum, which has also been held at the Port of Durban and the Port of Ngqura in the Eastern Cape, has been invited by Khumalo to be held at the Port of Saldanha later this year.
