The Port of Saldanha Bay’s expansion plans are making headway, said Tau Morwe Transnet Port Authority (TNPA) CEO. He noted that the iron ore terminal expansion would be completed by 2019 and would offer export capacity for 15 million tonnes per annum. The new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) terminal is set to open in 2016. Short-term upgrades include the new multipurpose berth (Berth 205) which will open by early next year, rig repairs and the extension of the Mossgas Quay for oil and gas fabrication. CAPTION Once completed, the new LPG terminal at the Port of Saldanha Bay will have a 5 500-tonne capacity.
