RUDI LABEAU has been appointed key account executive at Safmarine, based in Antwerp, reporting directly to CEO Howard Boyd. This new position, which becomes effective on April 1, will support Safmarine’s customer focus and enhance the company’s global sales activities. Currently Safmarine’s Europe trade executive, Labeau will also assume responsibility for Safmarine’s corporate marketing and e-Business initiatives. His focus will be on developing and implementing growth in key account support across regions, developing value-added services such as e-Commerce and EDI (electronic data interchange), and further developing Safmarine’s CRM (customer relationship management) systems. Belgian-born Labeau is a transport management graduate. He joined CMB in the early 80s and held a number of positions with CMB, CMBT and Safmarine, including that of East Africa trade manager.
