SAFMARINE HAS added Aberdeen in the United Kingdom as a direct port of call on its OPEX (Oil Ports EXpress service) between Europe and West Africa. Four sister vessels – the Safmarine Gabon, Safmarine Luba, Safmarine Bata and Safmarine Cabinda, all with a lifting capacity of 70 metric tons – currently operate on the service. Port calls (southbound) include Aberdeen, Antwerp, Lisbon, Bata, Malabo, Onne, Warri, Pt. Gentil, Sao Tome, Luba and Douala. Lobito, Malongo, Cabinda, Soyo, Banana, Matadi and Boma are served on a transhipment basis.
