Although there is a weakening of domestic vehicle sales there is a strengthening of vehicle exports from SA, according to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA (Naamsa).
Industry new vehicle exports reached 28 069 units during August, rising by 3 080 vehicles (12.3%) compared to a total of 24 989 in August, 2014.
“Vehicle exports for 2015 remained on target to improve in annual terms by about 20%,” Naamsa said, “to a projected industry record of about 330 000 units for the year, compared to 276 873 export units in 2014.”
