SA dairy exporters face stricter controls in Namibia

NAMIBIAN AUTHORITIES have defended the imposition of stricter import controls for dairy products sourced from South Africa. Import permits are now mandatory for Namibian suppliers importing SA cheese, milk, yoghurt and ice cream. And while buyers have complained of delays of up to three weeks before permits are issued, the authorities have made it clear that the increased controls are in line with the Veterinary Bilateral agreement between Namibia and South Africa.
