Rwandair has announced it will restart its flights from Kigali to Johannesburg (one a week direct, and two a week via Lusaka) from May 7, and from Kigali to Cape Town (two a week, both via Harare) from May 14.
The airline restarted its flights to South Africa in October 2020, but then suspended them again in February 2021.
Two of Rwandair’s Johannesburg return flights have fifth freedom rights to stop over and offload/collect passengers in Lusaka on the route between Kigali and Johannesburg. Both the Cape Town flights have similar rights enabling the airline to offload/collect passengers in Harare on the route between Kigali and Cape Town.
