Russia ruthless with banned food imports

Russia has sent a clear message about its policy on illegal food imports – recently destroying a shipment of mandarins from Turkey. This after it banned imports from Turkey over the downing of a Russian jet near the Turkish-Syrian border last year, according to freshfruitportal.com.

The country was criticised last year when it burnt banned European food imports

According to the report by freshfruitportal, the action followed a raid conducted by Federal Security Service (FSB) officers in one of the region’s stores on January 8, selling mandarins imported on January 5.
