ALAN PEAT
WITH A special focus on small, medium- and micro-size (SMME) members, the Road Freight Association (RFA) has introduced several benefit schemes. These are a funeral scheme, healthcare solutions, family crisis plan, primary healthcare benefits and short-term insurance – all aimed to allow SMME road transport companies to access services and benefits previously not available to them, according to RFA acting CEO, Sharmini Naidoo. “SMMEs often cannot access these sort of schemes, as the relatively small size of their business makes the schemes unviable for the underwriters,” Naidoo said.
