The refugee crisis in the European Union (EU) – which to date has seen disruption to road, rail and marine cargo – is likely to continue in 2016, causing delays to cargo and disruption to supply chains.
This is one of the risks to trading with Europe highlighted in a County Risk report issued earlier this week by global market analyst IHS.
The report points out that the EU is under “under significant strain”, with protests, inter-EU political disputes and a revision of the Schengen system likely to occur in 2016.
