Creating partnerships is the key to success for the newly rebranded Nzenga, one of South Africa’s leading servicedriven logistics providers. Nzenga is the result of the merger between King’s Rest Container Park and Nzenga Junction, headed by Des Moir and Nathi Thusi respectively (see pages 10 & 11). Moir said that although he and Thusi brought something slightly different to the table, they both shared the same goals and aspirations and as a business were a single cohesive unit. “This makes Nzenga a true partnership,” he said. “When we meet with a customer, we don’t prescribe to him. Our aim is to partner with him – to merge our capabilities with his needs in order to provide the best solution,” Thusi added. He said this also applied to suppliers and was clearly evident in Nzenga’s relationship with Transnet Freight Rail. “Today we can claim to have one of the most meaningful relationships with the national transport carrier and much of the reason is that we don’t point fingers when things go wrong. Instead we take a proactive, problemsolving approach and work together with the supplier to resolve issues and challenges. This has resulted in an open and honest relationship, and a true partnership that provides genuine value for both parties,” says Thusi. “People want to do business with companies that have been tried and tested. The logistics industry thrives on reputation and relationships.”
