Real-time system provides full audit history

CLIVE EMDON SECURITY SPECIALISTS Special Cargo Handling (SCH) have established a niche in the market, filling the gap between aircraft ground handlers and airline warehouses, where anything can happen to valuable cargo, says MD, Marius Louw. “We are technology driven,” he says. “Our method is to provide a full audit history of the shipments, and it’s been acknowledged by our clients and airline warehouses as highly effective and efficient.” The company focuses on the time-sensitive delivery of valuable shipments and provides real time information in support of the airline warehouses, says Louw. “The core function is to monitor the movement of cargo and to report to client and agent the status of their cargo while in transit. We can pinpoint where things happen to imports whether it is to detect damage or theft or short-landed cargo.” A former airport detective sergeant in the police, Louw claims to have a unique method of monitoring the progress of cargo in transit that gives his company the edge. Ten years into the game, SCH clients include blue-chip companies, manufacturers, airlines, logistics companies and freight agents. It has a staff of 40 in three branches serving air, sea, road and rail security.
